How is it possible to tan without the sun or UV treatments?

Il DHA (dehydroxyacetone HOCH₂COCH₂OH) is a sugar molecule, absolutely non toxic, that reacts with the protein molecules present in the first horny layer of the skin, creating polymers called MELANODYNE. Extracted from the sugar beet root, its first use came about in 1920 to sweeten infant medicinals, but it was quickly evident that it reacted with the skin, and thereafter testing began for cosmetic use. It wasn't until the 60's that Coppertone began using DHA in its formulations. Today, the Pure Sun advanced formulation has been perfected thanks to the discovery of a series of natural ingredients that used with DHA, improve the quality of the color and resolve many of the typical drawbacks of self tanning. There is a double advantage to the Pure Sun lotion: a luminously golden, evenly toned skin and hydrating, anti-age properties. No more orange, patchy color; the combination of the ingredients gives a golden intense color within 3 to 4 hours.
